Which hotels go quiet due to pandemic ?
Major hotels and apartments are forced to stay shut down due to coronavirus pandemic. At first, the hotel opening dates were being postponed, although the owners and management remained hopeful those could be open in the summer. Now some hotels are re-reopening, and others are shutting back down… Most hotels have waived cancellation fees, refunding guests in full. This is different if your booking is with a travel agency where they apply their own cancellation conditions. For the first time in history the following hotels in Marmaris and Icmeler have announced they will not be re-reopening in these uncertain times:
Club Anastasia apartments
Aqua Hotel
Aegean Princess apartments
Banu hotel
Ideal Piccolo hotel
Green Nature hotel
Grand Pasa hotel
Palm Beach hotel
Ideal Pearl hotel
Orkide hotel
Prince apartments
Yuvam Beach hotel
Postponing your booking can be a way of supporting a hotel or the agency. Take time to read the fine print and gain a good understanding of the terms and conditions in relation to the date changes.
Current hotel occupancy rates dropped to a low of 40 – 50 percent. Some hoteliers are running 10 percent occupancy over the past week. The week of Kurban Bayram looked promising but it is still much lower than expected.
