Marmaris Beach Photos. Don’t worry if all you want to do is lay under a beach umbrella, read magazines, and just hang out in Marmaris: the beach line is a total of 10 km stretching all the way from Marmaris center, down the Uzunyali or the Long beach and all the way to Icmeler.

Thanks to its location in a protected bay Marmaris and Icmeler beaches stay unaffected by winter storms that usually hit Bodrum, Antalya, Istanbul and the eastern parts of Turkey. In early spring the beaches in Marmaris and Icmeler enter a transitional stage from a somewhat abandoned beach into a very popular place under the sun. The beaches are backed up by bars, cafes and hotels, leaving very little space for public / free use.

That doesn’t mean you always have to pay for a sunbed, but you will be asked to order your drinks and meals on the beach from the bar, cafe or hotel that backs the beach. If you are not planning to spend much on the beach, you still have a choice in Marmaris! You could always head to the public beach, marked as ‘Halk Plaji’ those beaches are free of sunbeds and umbrellas, and you are welcome to use the public beaches in Marmaris and Icmeler free of charge. 

One of the public beaches in Marmaris is located right in the center of Marmaris, next to the Accessible beach. The same is true for Icmeler; the public beach and the Accessible beach is located on the left side of Icmeler beach.
