This is the first time in Marmaris history that you could avoid the crowds in June! There are a few tourists though but not enough to boost the local business. The wealthy Turks have been in sight in seaside resorts including Marmaris. Used to be spending most time abroad they are ‘stuck’ in Turkey for the longest time ever. Everyone knows they will be out of sight as soon as the borders are open. On the opposite side there are tourists from all over the world who have booked to come to Marmaris and has been put on hold since last year. On average the tourists have been waiting to come to Marmaris since one and a half years.
