KEBABS



 
DONER KEBAB        one of the best known traditional Turkish foods. Pieces of treated lamb meat are placed on a skewer standing vertically in front of an open charcoal or gas fire. The meat is constantly whirled in front of the fire and when roasted thin slices are cut with a special knife. It is served with rice or in sandwiches.
SHICH KEBAB        tender cubes of lamb, onions, tomatoes and peppers cooked on a skewer over a hot bed of charcoal.
CORN KEBAB        in summer, especially at crowded seaside resorts or recreation areas, one can see peddlers roasting or boiling fresh corn on the cob on small braziers filled with charcoal fire. Roasted corn is very popular and the smell is very tempting to passers by.
TAS KEBAB        a spicy dish of vegetable and lamb stew
